@struth welcome back buddy. We all need to reflect at times...blogs as good a place as any...especially when you need help sorting through thoughts as I often do!

I think you're right. The blog is a good place to ramble...and people get to choose if they are going to listen to your rambles. When you get home you should be wanting to spend time with your kids and relax. You work hard, and for many time with kids and family is when it's time to unwind, which we all need.

I left a comment earlier today to a teacher was was talking about this same thing. How time has a way of getting away from us. I suggested with starting with 30 minutes a week. Could you find 30 minutes a week within your professional work day to reflect on your blog?

I ask this of you, but I ask this to teachers as well who tell me "I don't have the time".

30 minutes is 1.25% of your professional work time in a given week. 8 hours x 5 days = 2400 minutes. 30 minutes / 2400 = 1.25% of our time. That's a far cry from the 25% time that the National Staff Development Council recommends. (http://www.thethinkingstick.com/?p=96) but it's a place to start. A place to try and work personal professional time back into the work day where it belongs. Not late nights on the couch when you should be sleeping, or instead of spending time with the family.
